STAGE

The performance area of the stage measures 30 meters width by 18 meters depth with a 15.50 meter height providing ample room for spectacular events. It is equipped with advanced theater technology including a ΒΑΤΑLPHA computer controlled fly system with 46 flying pipes, all the basic lighting instruments, 200 ADB dimmers, Congo ETC lightning console, 5 led screen for subtitles and video projectors. The stage is designed to facilitate easy access to all the trucks carrying theatre equipment.

AUDITORIUM

At full capacity the auditorium seats 2.500 people in an amphitheater arrangement without obstructed view for all the spectators. The seats were provided by one of the leaders in the industry, the French company Quinette. A full size pit to host a symphony orchestra has been incorporated partially under the stage and extending several rows under the existing seats. When an orchestra is needed for the performance, the front rows of seats are removed to expose the pit. As an added feature enhancing the capability to host smaller performances and events, the auditorium is designed to reduce the seating capacity for a more intimate audience by a drop wall removing from view the remaining seats without reducing the ease of access into the house (note: in any case not less than 1.000 seats).

SOUND

Particular attention has been devoted to the acoustics of the theater’s stage and auditorium, with the reverberation time being under 1.1 seconds average. The sound amplification and distribution for the auditorium is provided by the German audio expert company d & b Audiotechnik using the J Series, a state-of-the-art line array system with an even sound distribution to the auditorium (±2 db). The FOH sound console is the incomparable digital 96 channel MIDAS XL8.

PUBLIC AREA

The theater entrance opens into the spacious box office lobby which maintains the industrial feel of the building facade. A great asset of the theatre is the double tier foyer that distributes more than 1,500 meters of open space. The two levels are connected with wide stairwells and elevators for convenient access to all entrances of the main hall. Opulent, modern, spacious, sunny and fresh in appearance, the foyer areas have been designed to feel warm and inviting to the thousands of people it comfortably hosts and with consideration of access for people with physical impairments.

NON PUBLIC BUILDING PREMISES

All non-public areas of the building are fully equipped to enhance the anticipated specific needs of any production. The backstage areas are situated for ease of communication and accessibility to the stage, the dressing rooms, etc. The perimeters of the stage lead directly to the production offices, wardrobe rooms, dressing rooms, technician stations and the Green Room. The nine dressing rooms are completed in different sizes with private bathrooms and showers with the capacity to easily host over eighty artists. There is an added advantage to all visiting productions to make use of the rehearsal room complete with soundproofing, bares, mirrors and wooden flooring adjacent to a backstage passage as well as a separate entrance. The remaining indoor space of premises is comprised of: administration and production offices, press conference room and multiple storage areas. The building was designed to host not only live performance but also to host conventions, seminars, international exhibitions and social events.
